Staff Selection Commission conducts various exams according to the annual calendar released every year. Aspirants looking for various posts start their preparation well in advance to qualify the exam. SSC CHSL is one such exam which is conducted every year and candidates who look forward for it start the exam preparation before 3 to 4 months of the scheduled date. It is an ideal option to start the exam preparation in advance as it gives enough time to cover the entire syllabus. The syllabus of SSC CHSL is very vast. It has four sections namely General Intelligence, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness.

IDEAL TIPS TO PREPARE FOR SSC CHSL TIER I 2018 Exam

According to the latest calendar released by SSC, SSC CHSL Exam Tier I will be notified in the month of January 2018.   There are about five to six months for the exam to be released and it will be held even later than that. The date of examination is not mentioned in the latest calendar of SSC Exams.
There is lot of time to prepare for the exam more than the required so let us weave a plan to do a thorough study. It is advisable to weave a subject-wise Study plan as given below:

Preparation strategy for General Intelligence –

General Intelligence is a significant section of the SSC CHSL exam. In this section most of the questions are tricky which needs mental and logical aptitude. It is essential to develop a mental and logical aptitude by practicing as much as you can. Learn the concepts thoroughly and practice at least 100 questions on each topic especially based on verbal and non-verbal reasoning. The tips to master the art of logical reasoning are:
  1. Clear the concepts thoroughly for the complex topics like Social Intelligence, Syllogism, Word Building, Analogy, Classifications and more
  2. Solve previous year question papers and understand the exam pattern followed in the questions.

Preparation strategy for English Language –

Preparation strategy for Quantitative Aptitude –
  1. Quantitative Aptitude is very scoring if it is prepared thoroughly. This section needs lot of practice and concentration. Tips to follow to prepare it well are:
  2. Master the short cuts to save time.
  3. Practice each topic with as much as 100 questions to master the concept.
  4. Learn tables of cubes, squares and numbers to ease your complex calculations. It will enhance your speed of calculations. Take topic test daily and clear the concepts of the questions which you could not solve them accurately.
  5. Take a doubt session from a subject expert to understand it better rather than depending on any friend or book or study material. It is a complex subject and need an experienced instructor to guide you.
Preparation strategy for General Awareness -
  1. General Awareness is very scoring section if you have memorized Static GK well and updated yourself with current affairs of India and the World. Besides this there are certain tips to follow to prepare well these are:
  2. Listen to the current affairs related to India and the world by following youtube channel or watching news channel on television daily. Current affairs of 7 to 8 months before the exam need to be learned for the exam.
  3. Buy a good study material prepared by the experienced authors. It should be based on the latest exam pattern and syllabus.
  4. Prepare the topics related to finance, politics, economy, etc. i.e the topics frequently asked in the previous year question papers.
  5. It is an extensive study plan that one must follow to get the desired output of your hard and smart work.
